Partnerships
The Companies that make it happen:
The FILC’s strong business leader
involvement ensures timely and relevant learning opportunities. Dozens of
industry leaders meet with students on campus, offer internships and research
projects at company sites, review FILC curriculum and assist with strategic and
financial planning. An industry Executive Committee and Advisory Board convene
periodically to review objectives and results.
Your company can become involved in several ways:
- Attend a FILC-sponsored event, including the Annual Fall Conference, “Today's Managers, Tomorrow's Leaders,” or special issue conferences offered throughout the year.
- Become a mentor for Food Industry Management students through internship projects at your firm. Internships allow you to deploy talented and motivated students.
- Arrange for your top executive(s) to visit PSU and speak in FILC classes.
- Help grow the FILC's financial base by contributing to various endowments that help fund new projects, student scholarships and maintain the Center’s excellent services and operations.
Industry Funding Contributions:
The retail and packaged goods industry
provides the private funding for the FILC’s operation. The Center's growth and
development is due largely to visionary industry leaders making meaningful
financial contributions to student and program development. The FILC welcomes
all companies who have an interest in the improvement of this industry and who
may depend on it as a source of revenue and growth. For giving options and
information please contact tinaf@sba.pdx.edu
Scholarships: Your Investment in the Industry’s Future:
Contributions pave the way for talented students to become involved with the FILC, earn the Certificate, and start a meaningful career in the retail and packaged goods industry. Each year, the Center awards more than $50,000 in scholarships, representing all or part of students' tuition and materials costs. A scholarship committee reviews written applications from interested students twice each year.
